MA Website Update!

A little refresh to the MA website to reflect our new life and work in the Lakes!

Hello! This is a brief interruption to our regular scheduling in order to share news of our updated website.

We have been beavering away over the holidays updating images, writing and generally bringing things up to date to reflect our new way of life here in the Lake District.

As of this week we are back up and running again as Miscellaneous Adventures (Yay!). Andrew will be out working in the woods on conservation projects across Cumbria and we’ll be making things and taking photos for people.

We have simplified things a lot, making it a bit easier to find out what we do and how people can work with us. For now, workshops are on hiatus, and so is design and illustration.

It’s been a challenge to think about how much of our old lives to include on the website. After all, living in the woods made Miscellaneous Adventures what it is and who we are. But we don’t live in the woods anymore and it’s important to look forward and not back too much. Although a lot of our old content exists in archive form on the website, we’ve tried to focus on the here and now.

When trying to find quotes to put on the site I rediscovered this one which didn’t quite fit but is pretty solid advice that we would wholeheartedly echo:

"Simplify your life. Don't waste the years struggling for things that are unimportant. Don't burden yourself with possessions. Keep your needs and wants simple and enjoy what you have. Don't destroy your peace of mind by looking back, worrying about the past. Live in the present. Simplify!" - Henry David Thoreau

Anyway, we would love to know what you think. We welcome suggested edits and feedback and most of all we appreciate any word spreading and potential connections!
