Thanks Amy! That's interesting about the birdsong - now that you mention it there certainly seems more birdsong than last year, but I don't know if that's just because the weather was so bad last spring that we were hardly outside for long enough to notice it!
Ah, we lived in a seaside too once; early spring and late summer (just before and after the holiday season) felt like a magic time to be seized upon and it's the same here in the Lakes. Wishing you a peaceful and enjoyable remainder of the off-season!
