I just found some snowdrops and some sticky buds in the garden, which is very exciting! The latter are currently in a jug of water in the fridge (which will always make me think of you, Emma!)

Spring is the only season we haven't experienced in this house yet and it's been really fun seeing what pops up in the beds and the lawn. I was also very pleased to find some hairy bittercress - one of my favourite things to forage. I won't have to go very far if I need to pep up my salad now...

Ah, thanks for sharing Zabby. It's so fun waiting to see what pops up in the garden, we had that last spring (and yay for hairy bittercress!). Enjoy the cleavers tonic...still waiting for them to get going here but we have spotted their tiny beginnings so not long to wait now!

Over the last week or so, the crocus and winter aconite in our garden have appeared which always signals spring to me. The song thrush has also started its morning song again, a tawny owl family has appeared at night hooting away, and a pair of collared doves have returned! (I assume it's the same ones as last year haha) I love the gradual build up of bird noise as spring nears.

We love the return of the bird noise too! Mentioned it this week that the mornings are already more 'birdy'. Thanks for sharing!

It's a bit early I think but the rosemary in our garden, in a sheltered and sunny position, is already flowering! There are also plenty of fresh shoots on the roses, flowers on the hellebores, and even two cheeky purple violas popping their head out of our "living wall" (it became very much a dead wall in last summer's heatwave, so I'm pleased to see that a few things have survived). Violas are not your classic sign of spring, but a sign of new life and flash of colour that I'm very grateful for.

Glad to hear your wall lives! Thanks for sharing these, so good to see things growing and blooming again right?

I've noticed that the Robin has switched from its melancholy autumn song and is now singing a much more uplifting spring tune. Always make me happy!
