"Benji snuggles into his bag and says 'I don’t know why I was worried about this, it’s awesome.' In a matter of minutes he is fast asleep." While I don't have children, I love reading about parents raising their children outdoors. This quote makes me so happy for your family! Thanks for sharing this fun adventure :)
I'm always fascinated by the landscape on these adventures of yours! Those views are incredible! I'd heard that wild camping in England isn't technically allowed and that is such a foreign thing to me. Here, in National Forest or Bureau of Land Management land you just have to be a certain distance of feet from the roadway, but can camp anywhere (LNT encouraged).
Yeah, it’s pretty locked down here for wild camping. Very different from other places we’ve been like Sweden or Norway or even Scotland where the right to roam is enshrined in law and outdoor culture. It’s interesting to think about how access to land has impacted our relationship with Nature here…
Such beautiful photos, the swaying golden grass really makes them!
Thank you Lucy - yeah the dry, golden grass is beautiful at this time of year, and glorious in the light of sunset and sunrise.
Great read. Thanks for sharing your awesome family adventure/adventure of an awesome family!
Thanks David!

Thanks for the lovely comment Rachel l! It’s not always easy, but sharing adventures together like this make it all worth it…
