I was camping (for the first time in over 10 years) in Eskdale that weekend; weren’t we all blessed with the weather. Saw the end of party at Muncaster parkrun on the Saturday. Such a wonderful experience. Perhaps something will rub off!
From Hadge. What a glorious week and such an evocative film documenting your hike - the slo-mo helps create an almost meditative tone and the music adds to that - great job,
I know it was hard going but it looks glorious😊 well done to everyone and a special mention to Benji, what a trouper and fine adventurer he is. So proud of him🥰💫🙌
Such a fantastic journey and experience! I've never been a part of a larger group trip like this, but it looks like so much fun. I really enjoyed this film. It is a very interesting choice to present most of it in slow motion and I loved the selective focus in many of the shots. That's something I can't do with my GoPro!
Thank you Erik - I appreciate your thoughts on the film! I wasn't sure about the slow motion at first but I'm glad I stuck with it. A few scenes are over exposed - I bought a new ND filter especially for this trip and I kept forgetting to use it when filming, ha ha!
It's weird, I usually go out of my way to avoid crowds but there's something really fun about being with so many other hikers from all over the world for a few days on an event like this - you kind of exist in a little bubble and make many new friends along the way.
Do you film with a DSLR or mirrorless camera? I haven't tried that with mine. Seems like a lot to learn.
The community aspect of this seems like a condensed version of some of the long trails in the US, where thru hikers meet friends and form trail families along the way. I hope to experience that one day!
This is with my mirrorless full frame camera - the same one I use for stills. It’s definitely a lot to learn and I’m very much at the beginning of my journey. I hope to get better but I for now I’m quite pleased with how this turned out.

Ah amazing! Yes, it was a glorious weekend - such a treat after a wet and windy summer. Hope you enjoyed camping in Eskdale!

I really have no excuse why I haven't tried to learn this yet. Your film looks so good that I think I will try!
Excellent - look forward to seeing the results!
The landscape is so pretty
Thanks Karen, it’s a beautiful location!
