Ha! This was so much fun , and I love that challenge of not being defeated a third time!

Thanks Erik! We rose to the challenge, although it was so easy in the end it didn’t really feel like a challenge at all!

I'm glad it was third time lucky for you - I've not climbed Mellbreak but it did go on our to-do list after a lovely walk over Rannerdale Knotts and around Crummock water a couple of years ago. The scree put me off, but going up it on a circular is probably easier than coming down the scree! It certainly looks beautiful in your photos.

Thanks Lin - yeah, it's a lovely spot and I highly recommend it. Having (nearly) done it three times we are now experts on all approaches! The scree section is fairly short - we've been both up and down it and up is definitely easier and quite fun. Hope you get to give it a try soon!

What a great ritual! DST starts a bit sooner over here in North America, and we've taken advantage of a few unseasonably warmer evenings and longer daylight to have dinner outdoors on the fire. Looking forward to warmer weather and more outdoor meals soon.

Thanks Kimberley, we get super excited for BST every year. Glad to hear you've been enjoying the longer days over there too - dinner cooked over fire is the best!
