I’m pretty sure that chanterelles make an appearance just outside our flat every autumn so this year I will be inspecting them closely to make sure they’re the genuine article and if they are they will be in the breakfast menu ☺️

I also thought Guelder Rose was toxic so thanks for the reassurance it’s safe to use it in syrups - I’ll keep my eyes peeled. I saw a flock of Waxwings in a car park some years ago. It was in October half term and we were in Hastings in a car park. They were feeding on Rowan berries. It was a complete surprise and a bit surreal since it was so unexpected. But that is so often the case with the wonder of nature.

Lovely soothing account of your Nature finds and glad that you were productive🍒 🍄 I really hope to make some of the berry syrup and look forward to using it for a refreshing drink. Autumn really is full of treasures. I’m finding it really hard not to collect hoards of conkers to take to school as I used to do every year☹️ I did pick one up though and took it on the walk with me! Irresistible! 🤎
