My friends and I have been “training” for a 20mi hike for abt a year. he hike is 20mi in 8hours. I think it’s not possible bc how slow we are…errr I am. we love taking in the sites, taking photos, watching birds and of course snacks.
Wonderful! Sometimes I pick a photography destination ahead of time and it all becomes focused on getting there. This is a nice reminder to enjoy the entire journey!
Couldn’t agree more, and as the years advance, taking things slowly is not just a physical necessity but one of wanting to drink in as much as possible in this ‘one wild and precious life’ as the poet Mary Oliver describes it. I remember when I was studying for my Theology degree in the 80’s there was a drive to get students ‘speed reading’ and I came across a book by an academic, James Sire, called ‘How To Read Slowly’ - a wonderful read and just what I needed to remind me that it was OK to slow things down. Thanks for the reminder to slow things down . . .
Love the idea. And great photos. Thanks!
LOVE it! In this world, slowness is indeed radical. And as you've described, it is also deeply affecting! ✨
Loved this, thank you!
